Which opportunities does Fakuma offer you for your products and your company?

The Fakuma trade fair has established a meeting place for the plastics industry. We take advantage of the opportunity of presenting our innovations on this platform. Fakuma-Virtual’s target group is a perfect match for Fill’s product strategy.

What’s your initial experience with Fakuma-Virtual?

We don’t have any experience with virtual trade fairs thus far, but we’re looking forward to getting feedback and we’re curious to see what sort of new contacts will evolve.

Which opportunities does the virtual format offer you?

  • We’re convinced that we’ll get to know new people via the virtual platform.
  • Interested parties can find us easily by entering relevant search terms. Our trade fair booth has always been an eye-catcher, and now we can impress visitors with our virtual presentation too.
  • Even though personal contact with our visitors isn’t possible at Fakuma-Virtual, we nevertheless want to introduce them to the Fill team in our showroom.

Tell us about the highlights in your showroom.

MULTILAYER - High-Performance Laying of Thermoplastic Tapes.

The newly developed machine with 16 laying heads and a speed of up to 1000 millimetres per second lays tapes with a width of 50 mm. The spectrum of materials ranges from PA and PP, right on up to PEEK. Fill’s TAPE STUDIO application software makes the machine very user-friendly.

Consolidation Unit

This system fully consolidates prepared fabrics in a 2-step process. The semi-finished products are then forwarded directly to the injection moulding process.

RTM Production Lines for GRP Leaf Springs

Fill develops and supplies complete production lines for composite components in mass production. From cutting and pre-forming as well as integration of the RTM process, right on up to finishing and component testing – Fill delivers everything from a single source. All of the system’s production and process data are collected, documented and analysed at the control level.

Polyurethane Processing – Mould Changes without Production Downtime

Rotary table systems are ideally suited for the mass production of moulded parts made of polyurethane. Fill has developed a fully automated tool changer for mould carriers in order to avoid downtime during mould changes. This make changeovers possible within the production cycle. The tools are prepared, changed and cleaned externally. Rotary tables are thus transformed into highly flexible production systems.

We’re focussing on the aforementioned highlights.

Have you planned any webcasts which Fakuma-Virtual’s visitors can look forward to?

Fill isn’t planning any specific webcasts, but we do invite interested parties to visit our facilities for a personal, live demonstration. Our composites experts will be presenting efficient production of thermoplastic tape layers from the 5th through the 9th of October, 2020 (already one week before Fakuma). We’re looking forward to welcoming lots of visitors – personally at the company or virtually via MS Teams. What are you especially looking forward to at Fakuma 2021 (if participation is planned?)

We hope that we’ll be able to hold meetings in person again in 2021, and extend a warm welcome to the plastics industry at our booth in Friedrichshafen. As usual, we’ll treat our visitors to cocktails, beer and Austrian specialities in the Fill Cocktail Lounge. Personal contact, stimulating discussion and a mutual exchange of knowledge in the real world are nevertheless indispensable.
